 'ដើមស៊ូ/ផ្លែស៊ូ, Chayote verde espinoso (Sechium edule 'Nigrum spinosum'). Also called Verde espinoso chayote.
  • A tropical perennial.  A tender perennial in cold climate. Transplant seedlings once temperature reached 40°F or above.
  • Chayote thrive in well-drained but moisture-retentive soil tgat is rich in organic matter. Chayote prefer soil pH of 6.0 to 6.8

Cleome Gynandra or មមាញ, in Khmer.  The Khmers harvest tender leaves, flowers and shoots for consumption. Sesbania bispinosa or ដើមស្នោ, ផ្កាស្នោរ. Khmers harvest tender leaves,  shoots and flowers for traditional Khmer cooking.  It is used in stir fry,   Soups,  a quick blanched or  fresh used as wraps in dipping.  Tender shoots and flowers is commonly used in pickling/brined.   Flowers  is commonly serve as fresh toppings in a Khmer noodle soup.    A native to Cambodia.   An annual in a tropical and subtropical climate, minimum temperature (50 °F). It reseed itself. An erected lengthy soft wood shrubs, with sparse open loose branches.  It's bears clusters of yellow flowers.  Commonly found in rice paddy field and along fresh waterways. (Gynura Crepioides) Okinawa spinach

(Gynura Crepioides) an all green variety, commonly known as Okinawa Spinach is one of the most treasures herb among Hmong people and its community. This herbs is used in many Hmong traditional dishes. It is also used in conjunction with other herbs to aid mom with new birth in a 30 days postpartum regimen. In the USA, It is a must have herb in backyard growing of very Hmong household and community. I have and grow two variation of this velvety Gynura species. One is an all-green, and the other is a bi-color with purple underside.
