ម្រះ, Cerasee (Momordica balsamina)
ម្រះ (Momordica balsamina) commonly called Cerasee, Balsam pear, Bitter gourd. It is a tendril-bearing annual vine native to the tropical regions of Africa, introduced and invasive in Asia, Australia, Central America, and North America, where they have been found in some parts of Florid.
We Asians used young tender fruits and leaves for culinary purpose. Cook or raw and fresh.
Bitter gourd contain Iron, phosphorus, calcium, and vitamin C.
- An ovary of pollinated female flowers begins to enlarge, fruits will form properly and mature in two to four months. Mature fruits will be ready to pick about 12 weeks after planting. They will be light green, has high moisture content, soft white and bitter flesh.
