Lulo, Naranjilla ( Solanum quitoense)

(Solanum quitoense) commonly called, Lulo, Naranjilla is a culinary plant. 

Seeds are sowed. 

  • Tangy and sweeter than that of the cherry tomato. Some say it tastes like a combination of pineapple, kiwi, and citrus. 

Nutrients
Nutrients can change somewhat based on the country where each lulo is grown. As a general rule, however, lulo is high in Vitamin C, A, B6, and K, along with calcium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, potassium, zinc, and fiber.

  • Naranjilla, Lulo (Solanum quitoense.) It’s native to Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, but is also grown in Panama and Costa Rica.

  •  Fruits are fuzzy orange balls.
